Can I rent equipment if I am a Hart House member but not a Film Board member? 

You must be a Hart House Film Board member to rent with us. Information on membership can be found here.

Can I rent equipment if I am not currently a student? 

Yes! Everyone can rent from us as long as you are a Hart House Film Board member.  

When is the Film Board open? Can I pick up or return equipment outside of office hours?  

We are open on Mondays and Thursdays from 5PM to 7PM. We are a volunteer-run operation and cannot accommodate rentals outside of our office hours. 

What if I have no experience making films or using film equipment – can I still rent?

Of course! Plenty of our customers are beginners with little or no experience. We offer equipment for all skill levels. If you’re keen on developing new filmmaking skills, Hart House offers classes designed to deepen your practice. 

I am looking for crew members and/or actors for a film project. Can you help me?
