How do I request gear?
Please fill out the form for your booking request. During the next office hours, our volunteers will manually process the booking requests and update this webpage in the order they are received. Please note, that means that there may have been someone else who put in a booking request before you did but it has not appeared on the sheets.
There's so much gear! How do I know what I need?
You can consult our Gear-Situation Guide. If you are a beginner, then you can use any of our Beginner Cameras & Tripods without a Safety Tutorial. Generally speaking, our best cameras are listed first in the category, where best means more expensive, verstile, better image quality but also more complicated.
What does the * mean?
Gear with * in a box means you can book it, but the gear must be returned by the end of that period. No double bookings, late returns or early pickups are allowed.
What does the † mean?
The gear marked with an † requires a Safety Tutorial before they can be rented out.
How far in advance can I book?
Two months are available for booking at a time. A new month becomes available on the last day of each month. You are limited to two advanced equipment (2 Advanced or Pro camera bookings per month and each light kit twice) a month. If you would like to forgo your next month's bookings in order to borrow more often this month, please mention it in the comments.
Can I pickup gear during Thursday return hours? Can I return gear during Friday pickup hours?
Thursday pickups and Friday returns are not allowed. If you anticipate needing the gear on Thursday evening or Friday morning/afternoon, please book the gear for the following or preceeding periods.
Can I pickup/return gear outside of posted office hours?
Since we're all volunteers, there are no times outside of office hours to pickup or return gear.
I need this gear tonight and its not booked by anyone, can I have it?
Yes, last-minute pickups are allowed. Call in at 416 946 8180 to make sure the equipment is available for you. Also, if the gear is not picked up by 10 minutes to the end of pickup hours (e.g. 6:50 Mon & Fri evening) then it's up for grabs. Call in earlier in the hours to see what your chances are. Unfortunately, we can't wait for people beyond office hours so be sure to call in early or just pop by and have a chat while you wait. :)
